Please take a look at our Troop 686 Welcome Packet for our camping calendar, cost estimates, and other information.
How would you like to spend time with your Scout canoeing the Colorado River or hiking the Virgin River in Zion National Park? Or perhaps showing your son how to fish at Lake Dixon or rig a sail in Mission Bay? These are just a few of the exciting events that you and your son could be doing together as members of Boy Scout Troop 686 in Rancho Bernardo! You can look at some pictures from recent outings in our Photo Gallery.
We are Troop 686, and we meet at Hope United Methodist Church on the corner of Bernardo Center Drive and Bernardo Heights Road most Monday nights of the year. We have active Scouts and a dedicated staff of scout parents who can make Troop 686 a rewarding experience for your son.
We would enjoy it if you stop by and say hello for an evening of fun on Monday nights at 7:30 PM. We will have fun activities for the boys to get to know and interact with each other and there will be lots of parents to answer any questions you may have about the primary difference between Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. There will be many adults you are familiar with and many new faces to meet.
Troop 686 is only 12 years old and we have already produced 35 Eagle scouts. Once our scouts make the Life Rank they all proceed on the road to Eagle. We would like you to come visit Troop 686 but most of all we want your boys to continue in scouting. You will be amazed at the confidence and leadership skills your son will attain while enjoying all the adventures that scouting has to offer. As you visit the many fine Troops in the area make sure you look at the size of the Troop. You may not want one that is too large; your scout will let you know where they feel the most comfortable!
We are preparing for our next outings which will be backpacking in the Anza-Borrego desert followed by a community service event, and a hike near the holidays. You and your scout pick and choose which outings you would most enjoy.
Please come by Monday nights at 7:30 PM:
